East Yorkshire grower Home Harvest Living Salads took second place at the Fruit Logistica Innovation Awards in Berlin last week for its Oriental Mixed Living Salad.

The packs contain "a unique combination" of coriander, pak choi, mustard and tatsoi, still growing in punnets for harvesting at home.

The specialist company was named Salad Grower of the Year at the 2011 Grower of the Year Awards.

The overall winner of the award was Swiss company Eisberg for BBQ Grill Mix, an adaptable ready-to-grill vegetable mix in a vacuum-packed recyclable aluminium container.

The largest international event in the fresh produce calendar, Fruit Logistica this year drew over 2,600 exhibitors and over 60,000 visitors, both up on last year.
