Yorkshire council seeks contractor for weed control contract

Tender is worth up to £1 million over two years.

Bradford City Council is looking for a qualified and experienced Contractor to provide weed control services.

Under the tender the contractor must apply 3 applications of translocated herbicide to the footpaths and highways within the Bradford District during year 1 carried out at evenly spaced periods throughout the season.

The date of the first spray shall be 1st April. The second spray will start mid-June and the third in September.

The council says each application must not take longer than six weeks to complete, and "resources deployed / assumptions relating to 'down time' (e.g., due to adverse weather) should be sufficient to ensure delivery within the required timescales".

The contract will run from 1 April 2022 until 31 May 2025 and is worth up to £1 million.

Expressions of interest may be submitted until 23 January 2023.
