Wyevale Nurseries lorry takes on county promotion role

Wholesale grower Wyevale Nurseries has teamed up with the Herefordshire tourist authority to advertise the county on its newest vehicle.

The nursery approached Visit Herefordshire to advertise on its lorry as a moving billboard. The vehicle will travel around the Midlands and South Wales on daily routes to and from its delivery points, covering tens of thousands of miles a year.

Wyevale Nurseries managing director Steve Ashworth said: "Some of our customers would prefer that their source of plant supply remains discreet, hence we took up with our local tourist authority to promote what we, next to growing plants, hold dear - our Herefordshire roots, centred right here in the beautiful Wye Valley".

Visit Herefordshire chairman Sir Ben Gill said: "We are delighted that a local business, that trades not only nationally but internationally, has taken the opportunity to well and truly put the county of Herefordshire out there."

He added: "This is a great example of how businesses can show the country and the world that Herefordshire is proud of what it produces and grows and that we want people to come and enjoy it.

"We hope that more companies will take this initiative and use the county's new branding marque to promote their provenance."
