Wyevale Garden Centres sells Enfield Garden Centre to property investor

Wyevale Garden Centres has confirmed Enfield Garden Centre in London has been sold to a property investor, with the centre continuing to operate under licence from WGC for a period of 12 months

A spokesperson for Wyevale Garden Centres said: "We are pleased to have agreed the sale of Enfield Garden Centre. We would like to thank our great colleagues at the centre who have been central to our turnaround in the past few years, and look forward to continuing running the centre for the next 12 months."

Wyevale has been for sale since May and expects to be spolit up, though private equity buyers for the whole group are still circling.

Meanwhile Midlothian Capital, the owner of UK's second biggest garden centre chain after Wyevale, Dobbies, has bought HB Education, which owns PGL Travel, from Cox & Kings, for £467m.

Law firm Slaughter and May also advised Midlothian Capital Partners on the £217 million acquisition of Dobbies Garden Centres from Tesco in 2016, and on the £103 million acquisition of Park Leisure from its founders in 2017.
