Wilmslow Klondyke garden centre re-opens after fire rebuild

The new Wilmslow Garden Centre, operated by The Klondyke Group, is now open.

A fire in June 2011 destroyed the original garden centre and a temporary garden centre has been in operation whilst the new facility was being built.

Wilmslow Garden Centre now includes the new Topiary Coffee Shop and Restaurant. There is also a craft shop, clothing shop, Christmas, aquatic and gift departments in addition to plants and garden sundries.

Thermoflor supplied the structure, which has a new layout, with garden centre and restaurant in two separate buildings, linked by a covered outdoor garden.

The garden centre itself has a parabolic roof, the restaurant a flat roof and the covered link a gabled roof.

"The use of many wooden elements will give this modern design a sustainable appearance," says Thermoflor’s Ferry Breughem.

Pleydell Smithyman was the design, planning and business consultant.
