White Horse Contractors wins landscape work at Olympic Park

Oxfordshire-based White Horse Contractors has been appointed for the east section of the northern Olympic Park, Horticulture Week has exclusively learned.

Olympic Park managing contractor Bam Nuttall has appointed White Horse Contractors to undertake the east soft-landscape package in the northern area of the park.

The multimillion-pound contract includes installation of drainage, irrigation, completion of the earthworks, planting of trees and shrubs, installation of footpaths and terraced seating areas, for an area that forms a major part of the new habitats being created across the Olympic Park.

The east of the quieter northern section of the park will boast wetlands, ponds and swales, sloping planted riverbanks, meadows and wet woodlands.

Frosts Landscape Construction has been appointed to deliver the soft-landscape package for the west side.

Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) project sponsor for parklands and public realm John Hopkins said: "This important addition to the parklands team means we are on track to start work creating the park in the coming weeks."
