Westland adds lawn training places

The Westland Lawn Academy has added extra spaces to its training sessions for garden centre staff.

At Glee in September, Westland announced a five date tour of the UK and Ireland offering free lawncare training sessions, starting in Peterborough on January 14 and ending in Dublin on February 24.

The academy will follow the consumer journey all the way from product education to problem solving and merchandising guidance. It aims to help participants speak confidently to shoppers and offer clear and accurate lawn guidance and solutions.

Training sessions will be held in the following locations:

  • Peterborough – January 14
  • Taunton – January 21
  • Preston – January 28 – (fully booked)
  • Edinburgh Feb 16
  • Dublin – February 24

Brand manager Daniela Constantine said: "We’re delighted by the response, as this goes to show just how much this type of training is wanted by the industry.

"We believe that business partnership and garden centre staff are key to lawncare participation. The right customer engagement can really affect your turnover at the point of sale."
