West Midlands council seeks bids for woodland environmental work worth six-figure sum

Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council is tendering for management works at six woodlands as part of a wider environmental improvement programme.

Valued at £120,000 - £160,000, the contract will operate for 14 months from 1 October 2019 to 27 November 2020.

The work includes selective felling, thinning, coppicing, stump treatment and bramble clearance, with arisings to be either chipped or mulched and spread, stacked, or retained by the contractor.

The work forms part of the council's three-year Bees and Trees Project, part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and intended to bring a range of habitat improvements on its land.

Closing date for bids is 9 September 2019. See our Tender Tracker page for full details.
