Weed spraying contract on offer in the North East

The tender issued by North Tyneside Council is worth an estimated £464,000.

The three year contract involves application of herbicide to the Highways, footways and associated features in the borough of North Tyneside.

A further 12 month extension may be added.

Operational timetable:

1st Application (1 March - 30th April)
Glyphosate
Glufosinate Ammonium
Flazasulfuron around obstacles

2nd Application (1 May - 31 June)
Glyphosate
Glufosinate Ammonium
Flazasulfuron as required

3rd Application (1 July - 30 September)
Glyphosate
Glufosinate Ammonium
Flazasulfuron as required

Optional 4th Application - (1 October - 28th February)
Glyphosate
Glufosinate Ammonium
Flazasulfuron

The expected start date of the contract is 1 March 2022.

The closing date for receipt of expressions of interest is 23 November 2021.
