Webbs of Wychbold diversifies and opens Xmas shop

Webbs of Wychbold is looking outside the box to drive Christmas sales in a tightening market.

The Worcestershire-based Garden Retail Awards finalist has opened a specialist Christmas shop in one of the UK's leading shopping centres, Merry Hill at Brierley Hill in the West Midlands.

The Westfield-owned centre has 309 stores and covers 148,000sq m.

Webbs managing director Boyd Douglas-Davies said: "We're trying to be a bit different and to think of a new strategy."

The shop will sell Christmas trees, decorations, lights, figures and scenes, collectable from Lemax, as well as a range of gifts.
