Our turnover figures for the UK’s largest fruit growers, largely relating to the 2018 fruit season, show an industry holding steady in the face of a number of challenges, but generally unable to take advantage of opportunities to expand.
Those companies that posted turnover figures for the period showed a collective rise of just 2.5% — almost exactly matching the inflation rate over the period, while profits for many fell.
