Waterloo space needs redesign

South Bank Centre seeks submissions for overhaul of Jubilee Garden

Landscape designers have a chance to submit ideas for a landmark London open space. Jubilee Garden in Waterloo is leased by the South Bank Centre. Local stakeholders, including the London Eye, Greater London Authority and borough of Lambeth, want designers to redesign the 1.6ha space. The Eye, Shell and British Airways have pledged £2.5 million of funding, and a representative for competition organiser the South Bank Employers’ Group said more is expected. A public consultation for long-term plans for the park will start in the autumn. L Deadline for requests to enter is 17 September. Email competition @southbanklondon.com.
