Waitrose has extended its range of products in association with Alan Titchmarsh.

The new products include 'grow your own' vegetables including seed potatoes, onions and shallots. In early March, a range of seeds and fruits including strawberries, raspberries and rhubarb will be available.

Titchmarsh has been promoting Waitrose since April 2013.

Waitrose product development manager Karen Thomas said: "This launch means Alan will bring his expert knowledge and passion for gardening directly to our customers, beginning with a range of specialist varieties of fruit and vegetables.

"We know our shoppers love both cooking and gardening and we’re very pleased to be able to explore the possibilities of the kitchen garden even further with some exciting new seed varieties."

Products include a Waitrose Bee Mat at £10 and Waitrose Butterfly Mat (£10).

Waitrose plans a complete  store roll-out of around 300 'pods' at supermarkets this year after trialling 40 in 2013.

Waitrose says it has two per cent of the garden market, which it plans to grow to 10 per cent.
