Veteran American turf kit trader wins award

The IGCEMA Edwin Budding Award has this year been presented to Bernhard's Tom Hurst, who travelled from USA to receive the cup at BTME.

Hurst’s career spans 50 years, first working with a distributor in Phoenixville for 37 years and then coming out of retirement to work for grinder manufacturer Bernhard & Co.

Presenting the award sponsors Ransomes Jacobsen managing director Alan Prickett said: "The award was created to recognise technical professionals in the turf equipment sector whose actions have gone above and beyond the norm to help shape the golf industry.

"Tom has taken customer service to another level with his selflessness, enthusiasm and incredible technical knowledge."
