This year saw the largest ever British presence at the show, with five new exhibitors. Thirty-six per cent of visitors came from overseas, a rise in the foreign proportion of 10 per cent.
Beekenkamp UK and Ireland sales manager Sirekit Mol said: "There is a really good atmosphere at IPM - it's buzzing. But Horti Fair is more focused on machinery and I wouldn't recommend IPM for that."
David Austin Roses international sales director Tony Slack agreed that IPM had become more important than Horti Fair for the company on a wholesale level.
"This is the biggest show in the world," he said. "It has been in decline in recent years, but it's a tough time."
Caledonian Tree Nursery owner Jamie Single said Groot Groen was the only show that compared.
"It has a similar number of growers. This show is much broader and Groot Groen is grower focused, so a lot of serious growers go there and get what they need."
