TV series offers gardening job

A top job for a practical, "behind the scenes" gardener has come up at Gardeners' World, following Alys Fowler's move from head gardener to full-time presenter for the series.

The head gardener role Fowler undertook at Berryfields involved running the garden and presenting.

Former HW features editor Fowler is now going to be presenting full time and her previous job has been redefined. Now known as garden location manager, it will be a full-time, practical position, responsible for an under-gardener.

The successful candidate will start at the beginning of a new era of Gardeners' World, as the team begins to create a garden on a football pitch called Greenacre, in central Birmingham. They will work closely with main presenter Toby Buckland to develop the garden and liaise with the team filming the weekly television programme.
