Tree fall causes mass evacuation

A tree surgeon is to be called in to assist after a falling oak tree caused a major hazard at an adventure activity centre in North Wales.

An oak tree fell onto gas tanks at from the Colmenday Centre, at Loggerheads near Mold, fracturing one of six 3,000-litre Calor gas tanks, causing it to leak.

Firefighters evacuated fifty children from the centre, and more than 100 residents from the area, which has been treated as a major incident site.

The 130-acre centre, run jointly by Kingswood in partnership with Liverpool City Council - had recently undergone a multi million pound refurbishment.

According to the Daily Post, a tree surgeon will be called to attend the scene before specialists from Calor Gas can get to the tank.
