Toro fleet credited with Open Championship success

Staff at the Turnberry Resort have credited the successful upkeep of the course during the 138th Open Championship with their new Toro machines.

Turnberry course manager George Brown paid tribute to the machines after the Ayrshire course played immaculately through the championship.

George Brown said: "We began our preparations for the Open by significantly increasing our fleet in the past six months, which has helped us tremendously. We're very happy with all the new machines, particularly the greens and fairway mowers. The ability to stripe in one direction with the fairways is a real advantage."

Among the machines in use were the Reelmaster 3100-D Sidewinder, used to cut closer on certain areas, and the HydroJect 3010 water injector aerator to alleviate compaction and get water to the roots.
