Top UK Glasshouse Salad Growers 2021 ranking shows sector thriving through tumultuous period

The UK salad-growing sector showed how robust it is during the pandemic, with turnovers staying strong and innovations such as vertical farming coming in as outside investment.

Robotics, lighting, post-Brexit import substitution and the lack of a hospitality market and labour were prevalent themes.

The top 20 in Horticulture Week’s 2021 list turned over £689m, up from £669m last year.
