UK technical sales representative Andrew Beeston said: "Yellow cocktail has a superb sugar-acid balance - it's the first yellow variety with really interesting flavour." Commercial trials will begin next year.
The regular red cocktail Annatefka also won praise for its taste, with typical Brix levels of 6.2 per cent, Beeston explained, which it combines with high yield.
Another cocktail variety, so far known only as E22.34585, "has a high number of vines and very good presentation, with a high first-class percentage of shiny fruit", though the category-leading Campari still trumps it on flavour, he added.
In other categories, the mini-plum Garincha "combines great flavour with high yield", said Beeston.
Meanwhile, the small beef Kanovaro is particularly suited to the catering and processing sectors, he added, explaining that the variety cuts cleanly with little bleed as well as boasting "exceptional shelf life".
