Toby Buckland launches gardening show

Toby Buckland has teamed up with Country Gardener Magazines to launch a new West Country gardening show for spring 2014, comprising horticultural exhibitors, live music, food stalls and family entertainment.

The two-day event will be held on the first Bank Holiday weekend of the year, 2-3 May 2014.

Located in the grounds of Powderham Castle in Devon, Toby Buckland’s Garden Festival will feature 70 plant stalls from West Country specialist nurseries, demonstrations and talks. It will also feature craft and food stalls and provide entertainment and demonstrations.

Buckland, who has a plant centre at the castle, said: "I am thrilled to bring a quality plant fair to the part of Devon where I was born and raised. My aim is to help gardeners kick-start their gardening year with inspiring talks and demos, an array of diverse nurseries and lots of fun activities.

"Owning a nursery and Plant Centre at Powderham Castle, I know what a great setting it is for this kind of event and I sincerely hope it will become one of the top independent plant fairs in the country and a showcase for all that West Country horticulture has to offer."

The two day festival aims to attract around 5,000 visitors.
