Three-year, six-figure arb contract available as council puts tree work out to tender

A Greater Manchester local authority is seeking contractors for a range of arboricultural services including emergency call-outs.

Rochdale Borough Council is establishing a framework agreement for tree-related services to run from 6 January 2020 to 5 January 2023.

It currently manages all of its own tree stock within parks, cemeteries, highways and open spaces, but is now "looking towards utilising external providers to assist us in maintaining our tree stock in a healthy and safe condition", it said.

The services will be split in to four lots, namely:

  • tree pruning, felling and full spectrum of arboricultural works;
  • emergency call-out works during normal working hours;
  • emergency call-out (outside of normal working hours);
  • stump grinding.

The deadline for tender submission is 11 November 2019.
