We took a range of new chainsaws to the Cannington Centre for Land-Based Studies at Bridgwater College in Somerset and asked tutors and trainees for their opinions.

We find out why Makita is confident its 4301 is going to be popular, look at the latest upgrades from Echo, try a Solo chainsaw for the first time and consider the advantages of the latest technology-packed Stihls and Husqvarnas. Conditions on the day were dry, warm and sunny.
