Television presenter Janet Street-Porter blames lack of planting for road rage

Television presenter Janet Street-Porter has bemoaned the lack of landscaping on the M1, saying a dearth in planting contributes to road rage.

In her latest blog for the Daily Mail, Street-Porter blasts the Government for having "no sensitivity for the landscape".

She writes: "In [the Government's] world, new roads mean roads and nothing else. No planting, no landscaping. That's what produces brutal behaviour behind the wheel."

Street-Porter compares the UK with France, where she claims the road for the entire route from Toulouse to Brittany was planted with flowers, shrubs and trees.
