A Swansea garden centre has been given permission to demolish its conservatory as part of an improvements programme.
Swansea Council has granted a planning application by Pontarddulais Garden Centre to make alterations to its outlet.
Bosses at the garden centre are proposing to cover over an existing trading area, in what is the first phase of a scheme intended to ensure the long-term viability of the business.
The development will include a new entrance to the garden centre building on the northern side of the site. This will lead to an unheated sales area linking to the heated garden centre buildings and the plant sales area.
A spokesman for the development said: "The application allows an opportunity to improve customer flow and operational efficiency of the existing business and improve the visual appearance and customer appearance."
The organisation has been run by the Evans family for the past 40 years.
