Stir-fry tops poll as UK's favourite dish

The stir-fry is now Britain's most popular dish, regularly prepared by more than half the population, according to speciality broadcaster Food Network UK.

The Chinese dish, considered easy to prepare, has knocked chicken tikka masala off the top of the culinary pop charts, the survey of 2,000 consumers found.

The survey showed a strong overall trend towards exotic cooking, with Asian cuisine accounting for nine out of the top 10 dishes.
