Harding carried the flame on 24 July at Kew Gardens. He has been working for Squire's Garden Centre since 1981. It is his first and only job.

He is active when we are holding charity events in the store, such as Greenfingers and Children In Need. Harding and his wife have children of their own and in the last decade have chosen to foster numerous needy children often in an emergency and at short notice.
