The British Leafy Salads Association will shortly resume its Make More of Salads campaign, targeting both schoolchildren and young adults.
The second year of the three-year EU-backed integrated PR campaign and education initiative will start soon, association chairman Colin Bloomfield told Grower.
"We are targeting people who could eat more salads, particularly young women, along with the education campaign in schools to get children growing their own salads. That will hopefully turn them, and their parents, into salad eaters."
He added: "Right now people are still eating more root veg than salads, but we are trying to stimulate interest in eating salads warm, with recipes on the website."
