Scotts were also celebrating the 21st birthday of Miracle-Gro and launched a good merchandising and category management plan.
Martin Breddy said Scotts had "altered the shape" of the lawn seed category with Patch Magic, which saw two Patch products launched by Westland and Johnsons at Glee.
He said prices of £9.99 for Expand n' Gro had not put of buyers in trials, with rates of sale at 50 per cent of Scotts' main premium brand, Moisture Control.
Round Up Gel will retail at £8.99 and launches into the UK and Norway before going worldwide next year.
