RHS workshop range extended

The RHS plans to extend its professional development workshops next year to include events at three of its gardens.

Having launched a series of professional events this year at RHS Wisley, next year will see the programme extended to RHS Harlow Carr and Rosemoor.

Horticultural adviser Maya Albert has been involved in planning next year's programme following interest from professional horticulturists. "This is the first year that the RHS has organised specific workshops for professional horticulturists and we plan to extend the programme of events for 2009."

Events planned for next year include sessions on propagation, fruit growing, tree assessment and woody plant management.

Workshops on pest and disease management, winter gardens, and herbaceous border planning and planting are also planned.
