RHS Garden Rosemoor is to host its first Devon Chilli Fiesta from 10 - 11 May 2014.

The event, in partnership with the Dartmoor Chilli Farm, will be the county's first chilli festival.

The Terrace Marquee will host artisan chilli companies offering chilli plants, chilli seeds, chilli jewellery, chilli sauces, chilli chutneys, chilli chocolate, chilli fudge and more.

Two chefs will demonstrate cooking with chillies, giving visitors ideas and recipes to try at home.

There will also be photography and chilli sauce competitions, chilli talks, samba music, dancing, children's activities and guided walks of the garden.

This year Rosemoor will also have a Tolkien theme with ‘Journeys Into Middle-Earth', opening on 24 May, which will include original art and paintings from Ted Nasmith, a leading illustrator for JRR Tolkien's iconic books.

Letters and memorabilia kindly loaned by the Tolkien family will also be displayed alongside the art works.

Families can follow special trails to see garden sculptures including the outside of a Middle-Earth dwelling and garden.
