RHS Malvern approaches 30th show

RHS Malvern Spring Festival is to hold its 30th anniversary show later this week.

Chef Raymond Blanc will headline alongside MasterChef’s Gregg Wallace, Otter Farm’s Mark Diacono and BBC Gardeners’ World presenters Carol Klein and Joe Swift.

Three Counties Agricultural Society CEO Ken Nottage said: "We are counting down the days until we welcome visitors to our 30th show. It’s a milestone that we’re extremely proud to have reached and we couldn’t have done it without the loyalty and commitment of our regulars, both visitors and exhibitors or the curiosity and enthusiasm of our newcomers. It’s an under statement to say that we’re excited."

New for 2015 Peter Dowle Landscapes have created a stunning Pimms & Champagne garden that will welcome festival goers to the show garden area.  Situated opposite Villaggio Verde’s ‘Andalusian Moment’ the garden has been designed by RHS gold medal winning designer Peter Dowle and will serve Pimms and Champagne throughout the duration of the Festival.

BBC presenter and garden personality James Alexander-Sinclair will hosts gardening and gastronomic royalty in the Festival Theatre situated in the heart of the Festival Green. The new bandstand, featuring live music from the hugely talented Stringfever quartet provides the festival atmosphere for people whilst they sample the street food stalls, local crafts or marvel at the stunning collection of classic cars.

The Floral Marquee will be a riot of colour and a perfumed paradise with stunning displays from over 75 award winning nurseries. The Potting Bench, hosted by gardening expert Reg Moule, makes a welcome return where guests will learn more about exhibitors and their passion for plants.

The One Show’s Christine Walkden will be encouraging novice gardeners in the Get Going Get Growing arena and holding workshops with Great Allotment Challenge presenter Jim Buttress. RHS medal winning designer Jon Wheatley has created three show gardens to inspire festivalgoers: a Front garden, a Wildflower garden and a Vegetable garden.

The Festival Food & Drink Pavilion has been dressed to impress by RHS gold medal winners Villaggio Verde. Known for their theatrical schemes the team from Villaggio have recreated a lively Mediterranean market square that will be fully stocked with artisan producers from across the region and further afield. Cotswold Chef, Rob Rees MBE will preside over the Everhot Kitchen Garden Hub where he will host high profile chefs and gardeners as well as hold demonstrations and interviews with exhibitors and producers. 

The show will take place on 7-10 May and tickets are available on the gate from £19.
