The UK's leading growers and nurseries such as Pennard Plans, HW Hyde and Chrysantheums Direct will be exhibiting at the show and national Collection holder Michael Mann of Winchester Growers will stage a 6x6m 'Dahlia Extravaganza'.

Fruit and vegetables will be displayed in the Lindley Hall as well as a life-sized woodland scene with trees, bracken, moss and fungi highlighting the show's foraging and wild foods theme.

Among other attractions at the show visitors can take part in a 'foraging forum' and sample freshly cooked wild food dishes as well as listen to poetry, music and reading on horticultural themes.

Helen Babbs, author of My Garden, the City and Me will read excerpts from her book sign copies while foodscape artist Carl Warner will preview his new work, Pumpkin Land.

The RHS is asking people to bring in giant wild mushrooms by the 3 October to go on display in the Lindley Hall - the biggest  will win a £250 prize.
