Redesigned category format draws exhibitors and buyers to Spring Fair

Snow and ice did little to deter buyers as the Spring Fair and Totally Tools exhibitions opened their doors on Sunday (5 February) at the NEC Birmingham.

Thousands of buyers flocked to the UK's biggest annual retail trade event, where 3,000 exhibitors displayed in excess of 300,000 new products.

The fair, along with Totally Tools, occupied 20 halls. Organiser Emap redesigned the event to resemble a department store with each product category - from Festival & Floral to Fashion & Jewellery, Kitchenware, Toys and Giftware - forming shows within a show.

Gift & Home, featuring 570 suppliers, spanned five halls, while Festive & Flora had its own hall with displays by Snowtime, Big Decs and Birchcraft.

Event director Alison Graham said: "We are delighted to have so many UK and overseas exhibitors."

A new feature of this year's fair was a mobile application, developed by the Cloud with Genie Mobile.
