The Green is currently partially developed with office, laboratory, industrial engineering, hotel, gym, café, car dealership and care home facilities, set within a landscaped setting and a range of trees of varying age and merit, most of which are subject to tree preservation order, so arboricultural expertise is needed.
The Green was built on farmland, with oak trees, many of which remain, edging several of the field boundaries. More recently, extensive groups of Norwegian maples, mixed with horse chestnuts, and several clusters of poplars were planted However, a blanket TPO imposed in 2005 has led to many of the trees being left alone for more than 10 years and now several need to be removed.
The redevelopment of the site seeks to retain the best trees and replace diseased or misshapen trees with new planting.
