National Gardens Scheme patron Prince Charles says gardeners who opened for the charity in 2013 have had their best year ever.
In his introduction to the annual Yellow Book, he said: "During 2012 when the weather conspired against garden-opening at every turn, NGS volunteers and garden owners did not flinch. In 2013, when the weather was far more generous, they celebrated by producing the most successful year ever."
The 2014 Yellow Book from the National Garden Scheme features 3,800 gardens that open to raise money - £2.1m in 2013- for various charities including Perennial and the National Trust Garden Academy.
TV gardener Joe Swift has confirmed as president for three more years. Penny Snell is standing down as chairman. NGS's second festival weekend is on 7-8 June 2014.
A new NGS online 'garden centre' is at ngsdobies.co.uk, run by Suttons.
Garden designers including Cleve West, John Brookes, Ian Kitson, Julie Toll, Dan Pearson, Arabella Lennox-Boyd and Tom Stuart-Smith have featured gardens this year.
