The product includes a uniform substrate featuring a structure with hundreds of micro air pockets evenly distributed throughout the media, designed to stimulate fibrous root growth throughout the full depth and volume of the plug.
The transparent growing tray where the plugs are grown as separate units is designed to eliminate root damage or transplant shock, while enhancing transplanting.
Trials have seen production time savings from 25 per cent to 40 per cent.
Meanwhile, around 25 orchid growers will exhibit at the RHS Orchid Show on 11 and 12 April at the Horticultural Halls in London.
And the European Orchid Show and Conference, which is held every three years, will also be in London on 9-12 April 2015.
