The plan to stage Plantarium 2008 at the same time as the FloraHolland Autumn Trade Fair and Boskoop Season Fairs has grown out of a desire to give visitors more for their money in an uncertain economic climate.
FloraHolland representative Adrienne Lansbergen said: "It is more efficient to go to the Netherlands just once and see a complete assortment of products in one go. People can save money doing that.
"They will have more choice. It is the first time these three fairs are being brought together but we think it is a good idea and will be repeated if it is successful."
FloraHolland and Boskoop Season Fairs are on 27-29 August, with Plantarium on 27-30 August.
Plantarium fair manager Jos van Lint said the three shows' target audiences had a lot in common and would benefit: "This new set-up will give both Dutch and international visitors an all-encompassing insight into what is being offered in the nursery products, indoor and outdoor plants sectors."
This year's Plantarium will see new introductions from Blooms of Bressingham, Compass Plants, Hortis Holland, Van Vliet New Plants, FitzGerald Nurseries and Liss Forest Nurseries.
Johnsons of Whixley managing director Andrew Richardson said a lack of UK growers at this year's Glee meant it was even more important to have a European show.
