Plant award to run again at IPM Essen

The Colour Your Life Award is set to feature again at international horticulture trade show IPM Essen next January.

At this year's event, the inaugural award was run in partnership with Plant Publicity Holland (PPH).

The Flower Council of Holland has taken over running the Colour Your Life campaign across Europe from PPH, including the award, which will be judged and announced at IPM Essen on 24 January 2013.

Nursery stock exhibitors are invited to submit entries by 1 December via www.ipmessen.de. New, unusual or familiar plants with a story or less well-known benefits are all eligible.

Last year's winner was the "The Swing" tree from nursery Van den Berk. It is a type of parasol-like topiary with a curve in the trunk.

Meanwhile, with Plant Publicity Holland to close, the Colour Your Life and Green City campaigns will continue under new management for 2013 with Mark Long in charge and target audiences in the UK, France, Germany, Netherlands, eastern Europe and probably Italy.
