Inspectors intercepted shipments arriving at Manchester Airport on 20 and 21 February containing 75 and 25 Chlorophytum sp. respectively. They were affected by Meloidogyne mayaguensis or root know nematode.
Root knot nematode is one of the most costly and damaging plant-parasitic nematodes affecting horticultural ornamental and edible crops around the world.
