Peat-free edible garden proved a hit at Shrewsbury Flower Show

Bord na Móna UK sponsored Moreton Park Garden Centre’s ‘Good Enough to Eat’ show garden at the 126th Shrewsbury Flower Show on the 9-10 August.

Some 45,000 visitors viewed the garden, designed by Wrexham-based Moreton Park as an ornamental feature in which all the plants are edible.

Bord na Móna UK supplied a pallet of its Vital Earth multipurpose peat-free compost, used by Moreton Park to raise the plants from seed.

Retail head Steve Harper said: "Consumers are especially keen to use natural, traceable, green growing media when raising edible crops, so the concept of the edible garden really appealed.

"Vital Earth composts are all peat-free and made from sanitized green garden waste blended with FSC bark and naturally-derived nutrients, so they are perfect for fruits, vegetables and herbs as well as purely decorative plants."
