Peace lily selected as top office plant

Spathiphyllum has been chosen as the new office plant of the year by the European Federation of Interior Landscape Groups (Efig). Crassula and Guzmania were runners-up.

Efig planned to use the peace lily to promote National Plants at Work Week (8-12 July). It wants architects and developers to use more office plants.

New chairman Ian Drummond said Spathiphyllum is one of the best air-cleaning plants, adding: "It brings calm to the workplace and is easy to care for."
