Park conservation work aims to improve rare habitats in Reigate and Banstead

Conservation work is to be carried out this spring by Reigate & Banstead Borough Council's parks and countryside team to improve the area's rare habitats.

The council's parks and countryside team will carry out the works in partnership with voluntary conservation groups including the Reigate Area Conservation Volunteers and national bodies such as Natural England.

Work will take place at:

  • Reigate Heath — a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest
  • Banstead Woods
  • Felland Copse

The council is also in the process of applying for grant funding from the Forestry Commission to assist its programme of woodland management.
