The event, which focussed on trade customers, coincided with the launch of an extended plant range. The range has been developed over the past two years, following the expansion of the nurseries propagation department.
The nursery now offers a range of plants in addition to palms of all sizes including 40 varieties of grasses, 50 varieties of bamboos, 67 varieties of ferns and 150 varieties of herbaceous.
Nursery manager Toby Shobbrook said "We’ve met some very good new customers so the event has been a great boost for all the team and an appreciation for all their hard work over recent years."
British Plant Nursery Guide founder Gilly Pollock said: "Nurseries are often too busy to organise their own events so we can offer extra help to drive more customers to the nursery such as through open days. The day has been such a success we are planning to hold similar events at member’s nurseries in different parts of the country."
The Palm Centre is planning a second open day in the spring.
