The awards which are run in association with Horticulture Week, were held in London’s Grosvenor House earlier today where more than 700 landscape industry professionals from across the UK gathered to hear the names of principal and special award winners revealed.

Headline sponsor for the event was Rigby Taylor, and the presenter was BBC TV’s Huw Edwards.

The prestigious Grand Award was awarded for P Casey’s extensive refurbishment of two historic parks in the centre of Lichfield as part of Lichfield District Council’s Strategic Plan.

"The care and attention to the historic detail undertaken on this project was truly outstanding," said the awards adjudication panel chaired by Writtle College’s Greg Allen.

"The result is an outstanding example of a revitalised green city space with social improvement and involvement for all age groups and backgrounds at its core."

A special, one-off award – the BALI 40th Anniversary Commemorative Award for Outstanding British Landscaping Excellence – was presented jointly to BALI contractors Frosts Landscape Construction, Gavin Jones, White Horse Contractors and Willerby Landscapes for their collaboration on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park by BALI chief operating officer Wayne Grills.

For a full list of winners see below.  A special awards brochure celebrating all winners, principal winners and special award winners will be circulated with the next edition of Horticulture Week which will be published on Tuesday December 18th.
