The online shop, www.treesandhedging.co.uk, has been set up as a sister business to the nursery, which supplies agricultural, public and private sector clients. It sells woodland trees, hedging, fruit trees and planting and gardening products.
The website was designed to help people identify the best trees and plants for different locations and soil types and provides guides on planting methods and maintenance advice. There will also be monthly columns and blogs by gardening expert Sue Hoy.
"We have spotted an opportunity to use our 20 years of experience in this field to offer everyone a fast and easy way of selecting and ordering trees, plants and sundries," said nursery owner Andrew Henderson.
"Smaller bare-rooted plants are available between November and April, when they are dormant and ready for transplanting. This is the most cost-effective form of buying plants."
The business will distribute on a nationwide basis and is also offering a "click and collect" option.
