Community regeneration projects eligible for £2.5 million of government funding

Community groups wanting to improve their neighbourhoods can apply for a share of £2.25 million of government funding through a programme launched by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM). The Special Grants Programme 2005/06 is being made available to voluntary and community groups aiming to raise standards in their area through the improvement of their green spaces. ODPM minister Phil Hope said: “Local groups are the driving force in transforming their neighbourhoods. The Government is committed to creating cleaner, safer, greener communities and to working in partnership to achieve this.” For details, go to www.odpm. gov.uk/specialgrantsprogramme
