Walberton nursery-crop supervisor Dawn Smith recently passed the ABC Level 3 Certificate in facilitating learning.
Nursery manager Tim Lawrence-Owen said: "Dawn epitomises our commitment to training and has taken on the role of in-house trainer and mentor to our National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) programme. We see training as key to the success of our business."
Walberton, which is based in Sussex, established its training programme 15 years ago when the Government introduced the workplace-based NVQs.
Assistant manager David Hide said the in-house training enables Walberton to ensure its staff can progress to supervisor level and are able to work to a high standard at commercial speed.
Five members of staff are currently enrolled in the scheme, and attend the local college one day a week. Smith will now supervise their practical training and provide advice on assignments.
