GAN operations director Simon Edwards said: "We're not growing anymore. We've leased our site to Dorset Plants and we're focusing on retail and catering. Dorset Plants is growing bedding for us and supplies a lot of garden centres. They do a lot more bedding because they have a lot more space now."
He added: "It's been happening over the years, just simplifying the business. In fairness we weren't that good at growing and we're better at retail and catering so we're focusing on that. It's an eight-acre site with three acres covered plus our Landford site is in mothballs and I expect they will expand into that.
"We were growing three million bedding plants a year and I expect them to do more from our site."
