Nova to wind down Faversham Garden Furniture

Nova Garden Furniture has sent a letter to garden centre customers disclosing a proposal to wind down the parent Faversham Garden Furniture business.

A representative of the Faversham, Kent-based company said: "The directors felt the business under the Nova Garden Furniture brand, after considerable thought, they regret they are proposing to wind down Faversham Garden Furniture. At the moment an employee consultation is in process."

Nova Garden Furniture is the brand name of Faversham Garden Furniture. The representative added that Nova is trading as normal at present.

Directors Paul Ollendorff and David Batki-Braun said the company has not traded profitably for five years. Orders for 2009 will be honoured.

GIMA director Neil Gow said aluminium furniture prices and quality had been driven down in recent times.
